Katie and Andrew's Baton Rouge affair was one of my all-time favorites of year 3! Katie was an absolute gem throughout the entire process and truly gave me so much creative freedom when tackling her suite and day-of details. She and Andrew had the most stunning wedding planned at Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge. It's one of my all-time favorite venues overlooking the Louisiana State Capitol and we really wanted to highlight that throughout their suite! Here's a look at the fun process and the final product(s)....

In the end, we leaned more mauve than blush but it was so much fun figuring out what dusty tones would be the perfect fit for their suite!

Capitol Park Museum really is such a unique and amazing venue. Having attended weddings there myself, I just knew we had to incorporate the view of the Capitol somehow within the suite because it is such a focal point of the venue and typically the backdrop for the ceremony and/or reception!

I knew out the gate that I wanted to incorporate a letterpress venue illustration and upon drawing inspiration from the Museum, I fell in love with the idea of a letterpress border to match that mimicked the building and outlook from within its walls...

Once the modern, architectural border was established for their invitations, I built out a matching monogram to complete the design and carry throughout their day-of items and I'm in LOVE with all the ways they incorporated it into their day! It was even the background behind Katie as her dad walked her down the aisle and that's an honor I'll cherish always...
- the suite -
We went through a few rounds of revisions to settle on color and treatment of the letterpress border but eventually, K & A landed on this neutral, sandy gray tone for their invitation with a pop of navy in their digitally printed belly bands. We echoed the venue illustration on the back of their information/response cards and carried a complimentary, dashed pattern throughout the details. This one will always be a favorite and I can't thank the Brouillettes enough for trusting me to design so many elements of the start of their forever!
